Circa 1834, The Burn is the historic home of the John Walworth family for more than 100 years. The only exception was the three years that Union forces occupied the home as a hospital upon evicting the Walworths. The original dining table is still in the home, as is the original china.

We offer tours daily to all of our guests, served proudly with wine and hospitality. As the full splendor of this three-story mansion is revealed, it will be easy for you to imagine the full scope of Natchez in its heyday. We also participate in the Fall Pilgrimage, including an authentic historical recreation of the period dress and manners by our staff.

And every early morning riser can enjoy our Southern breakfast. We pamper you with an egg dish, biscuits, bacon, sausage, fruit and our grits that our so good they’ve turned hardcore grit opponents into lifelong fans. You can’t miss this most important meal of the day.

Here at The Burn, we pride ourselves in faithfully recreating history and offering it with all the comforts of today. All of our rooms are meticulously designed to match the home in its entire historic splendor. From the flooring to the finest antiques to the period mantles, The Burn is living history.

Of course, comfort is the focus as well. On all of our beds you will find sheets and pillowcases of high thread count finest Egyptian cotton, as well as down pillows and comforter. The mattress is top quality and will have you dreaming the night away flanked by our silk damask curtains. And in each bathroom, you’ll find our hand-milled glycerin soap made exclusively for The Burn. A true luxury.
